Pencil portrait sketch

You can see this portrait finished a few posts down...This photo shows how I generally scan a photo, greyscale it in my graphics program, and then print it out to be close to the size (or the same size) as the portrait. It is easier for me to get the shading the right size this way. I don't always do it, but it's often helpful.
